And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Proposed State of Jefferson
I'd add a few county's to the south, but not bad. Might be some interest in Northern Nevada as well.
The powers that be won't let this happen. We have the water. but they have the voters. I get why they wanted to call it the State of Jefferson, but think it would have done better being called Northern California. JMHO
Too bad the original effort was so poorly timed (through no fault of their own).
ReplyDeleteIf they ever actually make this happen in my lifetime I am moving straight back to Coos Bay where I grew up.

ReplyDeleteIf they didn't allow the State of Franklin to be created out of northeast Tennessee back in the 1780's, it probably won't happen now either.
