Your good news of the day: Kurdish YPG forces seize the Syrian border town of Tal Abyad, cutting ISIS off from their main access to Turkey.

Victorious Kurds celebrate their victory over the barbarians.

"The Kurdish fighters are in almost full control of Tal Abyad," said Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Abdel Rahman said there were still "some small pockets of resistance from small groups of Islamic State fighters who are still holed up inside".
At least 40 jihadists were killed as they fled Tal Abyad for Ein Issa, another town still under IS control."
Given their success at this critical point, I doubt ISIS can let this stand.  I expect that shortly they will make a sustained and aggressive attempt to recapture this location.  Meanwhile, the Kurds should, if their manpower and ammo is sufficient, immediately follow up by marching to the ISIS capitol of Raqqa, before the grunting animals of Daesh can regroup.  Perhaps they can relieve pressure on other areas of Syria and even Iraq by requiring ISIS to come to the defense of their capitol, which would in turn expose ISIS military assets to American airstrikes when they move.

  1. Arming and supporting the Kurds (f-Turkey) is the only legitimate action that the US could/should take in the war against the barbarian shiites and sunni. The shiites in Iraq are enemies of the US, acting as Iranian proxies. The sunni (acting on their own accord) are the same. Landing troops to protect Baghdad leads to the question of who, precisely, we are helping, and why.

  2. Establish a shooting gallery perimeter around the city then drop leaflets announcing the carpet bombing of Raqqa in 48-hours. Anyone in possession of a weapon leaving the city is met with "extreme prejudice". Detain and question all military age (8-60) persons. Also print a couple of billion bucks and send it to Turkey.
