Worked on the man cave down in the barn this weekend.  The seventeen year old and I marked out and cut a hole in the wall of the barn for the stove pipe, fit it through, and fired up the old parlor stove.  Worked perfectly.  Too bad it's spring, and the cold rainy weather is past.

Nevertheless, the next step will be a bookcase, with appropriate reading material.  Need to finish the oak round table as well, but the hard work there is done as well, and only the legs need to be attached.

The kid liked all the sparks the grinder threw, but I think I burned a few holes in my shirt in the process.

Although the cave isn't finished yet, the nineteen year old was happy to pose reading the paper  for the picture.  The couch was ten bucks at a church rummage sale - great deal.  The sixteen year old made the wood holder himself.  :-)

I'm maybe 150 bucks into the deal, mostly for the stove pipe.  This should be more and more fun as time goes by.

  1. Your daughter hanging out in the man cave? It sounds like more of a second family room.
